Clint Simon is a February 2, 1995 initiate of the Gamma-Chi Chapter at Kansas State University. He is a Kansas native, originally from Canton, Kansas. As an undergraduate in Kappa Sigma, Clint held positions of Pledge Educator, Social Chairman, and Grand Master. Clint’s interfraternal involvement at Kansas State included the Social Responsibility Committee and a Champion for Greek 101, the new member orientation for Kansas State Greeks.
After a graduating from KSU with a BS in Food Science, Clint worked a short three-year stint with a large private cheese company; and then joined the Kappa Sigma Headquarters Staff in Charlottesville, Virginia in June of 2001. He is the last Kappa Sigma to hold the position of Chapter Consultant. During his time traveling Kappa Sigma land as a Consultant, he advanced the success of today’s newest Chapters at LSU, Louisiana Tech, Hobart College, John Carroll, Western Kentucky, and Wake Forest.
After just nine short months as Chapter Consultant, Clint was promoted to Director of Membership Development. In this position he worked with undergraduate chapters through the Brothers In Action initiative, which included the 60 Day Pledge Program, the Colony Development Program, and Chapter Goal Setting. Clint also oversaw alcohol education which included revamping of the My Brother’s Keeper Program which was unveiled in Summer 2005. Other duties include the Kappa Sigma Awards Program, Leadership Conferences, Grand Conclaves, and Ritual support to chapters and alumni.
Clint considers his three greatest Kappa Sigma accomplishments at the Headquarters Staff to be the development of the 2003 version of the Bononia Docet, the producing of the DVD for the 64th Grand Conclave and creating and maintaining the website at www.kappasigma.org.
Clint lived in Providence, Rhode Island where he earned his degree in Culinary Arts at Johnson and Wales University (school Emeril Lagasse and Tyler Florence also attended). He expects to graduate with honors this May, at which point he moved to St. Croix, United States Virgin Islands with his fiancé, Kelly Rothwell (of Charlottesville, Virginia). In the Caribbean, Clint was employed with the Buccaneer Hotel and Resort as a chef and eventually, someday open his own restaurants in Kansas City, Charlottesville, Virginia, and if he’s lucky, St. Croix. He and Kelly were married on January 1, 2007 .
Clint’s favorite moments to recall at Gamma-Chi Chapter are the many nights he would simply wander the halls and talk with his fellow brothers located in any one of the 24 rooms throughout the house. He attributes his ability to achieve a diploma at Kansas State to all the laughter and support of his Gamma-Chi brothers.
