Your memories are safe
Chapter historical memorabilia and any items that were displayed in the former chapter house have been safely moved to a storage facility in Manhattan. This includes any items that were hanging on the walls, in the trophy cases, or in the Davis-Fiser addition & archive room. The storage locker is entirely maintained by generous donations from our alumni. A PayPal account is set up to donate to the storage locker.
The Chapter extends a huge “thank you” to alumnus Pat Sheik ’05. Though he was about to be married later in August, Pat spent many hours coordinating with the bank reps and hauling our items to his house and storing them temporarily in his single-car garage. Once a storage facility was obtained, he then reloaded the items and moved them there. Thanks again Pat, and congrats on your marriage!
Once the bank reps arrived unannounced on the property in early August and took possession of the house, alumni were no longer allowed access to the house and Brothers had no rights to its contents other than our memorabilia. Brothers were required to gain prior approval from the bank before removing items, and were supervised by a bank rep while on site.
Regarding the contents, it was simply not possible to retain the furniture and fixtures, such as chairs, tables, and more as they became the property of the bank and we were not allowed to remove them. Gamma-Chi is sad to say these objects were later auctioned off.
